Privacy Policy
AusWide Pest Control Pty Ltd (ABN 67 623 817 970)
Effective 14 August 2026 · Version 1.0
AusWide Pest Control Pty Ltd (“AusWide Pest Control”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of the people who use our website and our services. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it.
It applies to auswidepestcontrol.com.au and to the pest management services we provide across Melbourne and Victoria.
1. What information we collect
Information you give us
When you complete an enquiry form on our website, we collect:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your phone number;
- your postcode;
- the service you are enquiring about; and
- any additional details you choose to include in the message field.
When you book and receive a service, we may also collect:
- the address of the property to be treated and details about it, such as construction type, previous treatments and areas of concern;
- photographs and inspection findings recorded at the property;
- billing details and payment records; and
- correspondence between us, including phone, SMS and email.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we and our service providers automatically collect technical information including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, the pages you view, how long you spend on them, and the website or advertisement that referred you. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies, described in section 4.
Sensitive information
We do not seek sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and we ask that you do not include it in enquiry forms. If you volunteer health information relevant to a treatment — for example an allergy, asthma, or a chemical sensitivity affecting an occupant — we will use it only to plan a safe treatment and will hold it in confidence.
2. Why we collect it
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide a quote;
- schedule, deliver and follow up pest management services;
- prepare inspection reports and treatment records, including records we are required to keep under Victorian pest control licensing and chemical use requirements;
- invoice you and process payment;
- honour warranty and service-period commitments;
- contact you about a service that is due, where you have asked us to or where it relates to a service we have already provided;
- improve our website and understand which of our advertising is effective; and
- meet our legal, insurance and workplace safety obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
3. Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only where it is necessary, and only to:
- Our technicians and approved subcontractors, so they can attend the property and carry out the work;
- Our website host and IT providers, who store the website and the enquiries submitted through it;
- Google, through the analytics and advertising tools described in section 4;
- Our accountants, bookkeepers and payment processors, for invoicing and payment;
- Our insurers and professional advisers, where relevant to a claim or to legal advice;
- A property owner, managing agent, or the party who commissioned an inspection, where the report was requested by or for them; and
- Government or regulatory bodies, where we are required or authorised by law to do so.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers, including Google, store and process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. By using our website or submitting an enquiry, you consent to this disclosure. We take reasonable steps to use providers that apply appropriate data protection standards.
4. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. A cookie is a small file stored on your device that allows a website to recognise it on return visits.
We use the following:
- Essential cookies, required for the website and enquiry forms to function.
- Google Tag Manager, which manages the tags below.
- Google Analytics, which tells us how visitors find and use our website in aggregate.
- Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing, which tells us which advertisements lead to enquiries, and allows advertisements for our services to be shown to you on other websites and on Google after you have visited ours.
- Google reCAPTCHA, which protects our enquiry forms from automated abuse. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
These tools may set third-party cookies and collect a device or advertising identifier. Google’s handling of that data is governed by Google’s own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can review and control how Google personalises advertising to you at adssettings.google.com, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that blocking essential cookies may prevent our enquiry forms from working.
5. How we store and protect it
Personal information is held in our booking and accounting systems, in our email, and in the website’s own records. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including access controls on our systems, encrypted connections to our website, and confidentiality obligations on our staff and subcontractors.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as needed to respond to and follow up your enquiry. We keep service, inspection and treatment records for the period required by Victorian pest control and chemical use record-keeping requirements, and by our insurance and taxation obligations — generally a minimum of seven years. When information is no longer needed and we are not required to retain it, we destroy or de-identify it.
7. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details in section 9. We will respond within a reasonable period. We do not charge for making a request, though we may charge a reasonable fee for the cost of supplying a large volume of records.
If we decline a request, we will explain why in writing.
8. Marketing and opting out
If we send you service reminders or occasional information about our services, every message will include a way to unsubscribe. You can also ask us to stop at any time by replying, or by contacting us using the details below. Opting out of marketing does not stop us contacting you about a job we are currently carrying out for you.
